Mixero
Overview
Bitcoin mixer using CoinJoin and advanced modes for enhanced transaction privacy.
Details
Mixero.io is a Bitcoin mixing service launched in 2022, designed to improve transaction privacy by breaking the traceable links inherent to the public blockchain. Since Bitcoin transactions are fully transparent and can be analyzed over time, Mixero provides tools to obscure the origin and destination of funds through specialized mixing protocols. The service primarily relies on a customized implementation of the CoinJoin mechanism. This approach combines multiple users’ transactions into a single process, making it difficult to associate specific inputs with corresponding outputs. Unlike basic implementations, Mixero adapts its CoinJoin strategy depending on selected fee levels and transaction priority, using separate intermediary wallets that are not reused to prevent linkage between operations. In addition to standard mixing, Mixero offers advanced privacy features. One of its key tools is the “Ricochet” function, which introduces multiple intermediate steps (or “hops”) between sender and receiver, along with randomized confirmation delays. This increases the complexity of transaction analysis by disrupting timing patterns on the blockchain. The platform also provides an advanced mode that leverages cross-asset conversion techniques, routing funds through privacy-focused networks such as Monero (XMR) before converting them back to Bitcoin. This process, combined with automatic wallet generation and transaction splitting, significantly reduces traceability and adds an extra layer of anonymity. Using Mixero.io does not require account creation or identity verification. Users simply provide one or more destination addresses, choose transaction parameters such as fees and delays, and send Bitcoin to a generated deposit address. After processing, the mixed coins are delivered to the specified addresses following the configured delay. To protect user privacy, Mixero enforces a strict no-logs policy. Transaction-related data is only stored temporarily during processing and is deleted after completion or within a limited timeframe, typically within 24 to 48 hours. While Mixero offers powerful privacy-enhancing features, it operates in a sensitive regulatory context. Services that obscure transaction flows may face scrutiny in certain jurisdictions, and users should remain aware of legal considerations when using such tools.
